The Connecticut Association of Physics Teachers (CAPT) was started in 1986 to enable physics teachers throughout the state to network with each other. The organization provides two large institutes with world-famous presenters, regional workshops given by area experts and teachers, a bimonthly newsletter, an amusement park physics day, dinner/lectures, as well as on online forum for members to share lesson content and activities.
